I've had some programs on my PC, I do. I buy the software on my Mac or do I keep my old computer just for these programs: QuickBooks, ATX (accounting software), Flexi (graphic design software for vinyl cutting) CoralDraw

well, it would be best to have their equivalents on the Mac, but if you have what you might be able to dual boot XP if on a Mac with an Intel-based Mac.
If it works, and then Intel Mac with Bootcamp or VMware / Parallels go ahead and download the software on Windows. The only time when the Mac version, or an equivalent software for Mac, when you upgrade - because you buy new software anyway.
